Have you ever heard a song that touched you in a way that you couldn't explain? A song that somehow represented a snapshot of your life and changed your entire persona? What about an album that symbolized who you were, where you were going and what you wanted to be? An unknown band from Indiana has written that album.

Did you know what you were going to do for the rest of your life when you were 18? A band named Student Rick does and they are determined to make a lasting musical contribution. They are from the Indiana heartland, an area characterized by honesty, integrity and hard work.

"Soundtrack For a Generation" is a story of songs that are undeniably powerful, moving and interwoven with brilliant melodic idiosyncracies. Flawless vocal harmonies intermingle with each song's staid rhythm pulling you into the heart of each song. From the very first note of the album Student Rick takes the listener on a fantastic, diverse and eclectic musical journey. Student Rick's dual vocal harmonies display an infectious lucidity that makes immediate aural impact. They write directly to the audience that they appeal to because they are that audience. Their language is your language.

In early summer Student Rick ventured off to Fort Collins, CO to record their debut album, "Soundtrack For a Generation". The album was recorded and engineered by Bill Stevenson of The Descendents at his Blasting Room Studios. On October 9th a new side to Victory Records will emerge with the release of Student Rick's, "Soundtrack For a Generation". They have taken the power and beauty of pop inflected emotional rock fusing it with their own ethereal musical enhancements.

After just a few short months on Victory, Student Rick has already scored a tour with Maverick's Showoff and a prime spot on this year's CMJ New Music Marathon. Their unrelenting determination has already taken them farther than most young bands are able to reach after years of hard work. They will embark on a non-stop touring schedule beginning late summer 2001 through the end 2002.

It is not often that a debut album by an unknown band ventures into such creative splendor and depth. This young band's grasp of the elements that make rock music such an important and ever-evolving genre is what keeps the music alive.
